Douglas J. Green
Throughout my career, I have represented some of the most powerful and active brands in the retail and restaurant world: AMC Theatres, Citibank, Equinox, SoulCycle, Forever 21, Starbucks Coffee Company, T-Mobile and Shake Shack, among many others. My diverse professional experience has provided me with the great opportunity to extend my knowledge and leadership interests outside of MSC. Over the years, I have held various positions within International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), provided quotes and insight to many national and industry-related publications and have been retained for various legal matters as an expert witness in the field of retail leasing. I also genuinely enjoy giving back to an industry that has given me so much. I guest lecture annually on retail leasing and development at Villanova University and currently serve as a faculty member for ICSC’s University of Shopping Centers, held annually at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I am on the advisory board of the Philadelphia chapter of Back on My Feet, a national nonprofit organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness and other challenges transform their lives, and I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB). Most recently, I was awarded the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award, honoring young professionals in Greater Philadelphia for outstanding success and contributions to their community.
As Managing Principal of MSC, I am responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company, business development and management of the firm’s transactional brokerage division. I remain deeply entrenched in day-to-day brokerage and enjoy handling several tenant and landlord representation accounts across every use category and retail asset class. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to create value for both buyers and sellers through my investment sales work. My innate fascination with neighborhoods and communities, coupled with my attraction to fresh, forward-thinking brands has given me the good fortune to truly enjoy coming to work every day.
The stresses created by the fast-paced, crazy world of retail real estate make coming home to my family incredibly satisfying and rewarding. My wife Avery and kids Grayson and Brooks keep me motivated, inspired and on my toes. But of course, I need some Doug time too. I love being outdoors and pushing myself in sports and activities that allow me to see new places. I enjoy skiing, training for triathlons and doing everything I can to stay retired from golf.
If I could pick up and move anywhere in the world it would be ‘off-grid’ in Alaska.
