Greg Acinapura

Hospitality Guru

After earning a Bachelor of Art in Marketing at Saint Joseph’s University, I tried my hand in the technology world as a recruiter and later a sales consultant. When I realized my interest for the sector wasn’t heartfelt, I took the leap of faith towards a longstanding passion and enrolled in culinary school. I had been fascinated by the food world for years, everything from the way restaurants functioned, to perfecting recipes, to the intangible feeling food brings to people and I knew being classically trained would give me an edge in the industry. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, I spent time in kitchens as both a chef and general manager, and later brought my sales background into the mix and became a wholesale sales manager at a few incredible companies that focus on elevating the experience and cuisine of restaurants.

In joining MSC Retail, I am committed to infusing my two worlds of business and hospitality to find the perfect space for chefs and restaurateurs, as well as finding quality food and beverage tenants to enhance the ever-evolving food scene of this amazing city. MSC Retail gives me the opportunity to extend my knowledge of the industry to foster the establishment of successful businesses and help unique concepts to flourish. As someone who has worked within the kitchen, has been a provider to chefs, and has opened a restaurant from the ground up, my layered experiences allow me to support the process and growth of new businesses. My extensive network of successful chefs, restaurateurs and managers within the hospitality industry provides me an incredible asset to leverage.

Not Work

I love to cook during my free time and try new techniques and ingredients in the comfort of my own home. Nothing brings me more joy than feeding my family and friends, particularly during the holidays. My favorite meal and tradition of the year is our Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes that I start preparing for in the summer. I also love exploring new cities, food scenes, and countries with my beautiful wife and spending time with my trusty sidekick and black lab, Bruce (Wayne). When I am not in a kitchen or with my two best friends, I am constantly doodling and creating new artwork to fill the walls of our home.

I have successfully eaten my way through each of Philadelphia Magazine's Top 50 Restaurants in Philadelphia.
